David Wright, the New York Mets captain, landed on the disabled list after last night’s game.
Since the collapses of the 2007 and 2008 seasons, the New York Mets have failed to be relevant, even post All-Star break, let alone in September or October.
For the majority of the first half, it appeared the Metropolitans were headed for disaster, until a recent stretch where they have been playing above-.500-ball.
While phenom Matt Harvey, new comer Juan Lagares, and a revitalized Marlon Byrd and Eric Young Jr. Have been the catalysts, David Wright has been the steady force that is expected of a captain. Continue reading
The San Francisco 49ers are the defending NFC Champions and are considered to be one of the favorites to win the SuperBowl.
However, their season is not off to a good start due to some key injuries. Former first rounder, WR Michael Crabtree, has been bitten my the injury bug and will miss a majority of the upcoming season due to a torn Achilles.
Now the hard-hitting, centerpiece of the Niner’s stout defense, Patrick Willis, faces a Continue reading
How to choose your fantasy football team.
With fall right around the corner, people who play a lot of fantasy football will be getting ready for the draft. However, before the draft even starts, a person faces a much bigger dilemma.
While it may seem pretty basic, finding the right fantasy football team name is important because it can show off individuality and even get a few laughs out of opposing managers. So the question is what makes for some great fantasy football team names?
Tyler Hansbrough was a big time college player at the University of North Carolina. However, his collegiate success has not, and most likely will not, translated to the NBA. However, he provided toughness, grit, selfless play, and energy coming of the bench for the Indiana Pacers, especially during the NBA Playoffs.
As a Knicks fan, I hated and actually still hate Hansbrough, but would welcome his style of play and energy to New York in a heart-beat.
I am pretty sure Hansbrough would have loved to wind up in New York or even in Alcatraz over Toronto. In the following video, Hansborough says that he is excited to be a member of the Toronto Raptors…but his facial expressions show a different story. It looks like he wants to kill himself to be exact. Check it out:
Baseball player gets taken out by sky-diver.
Most of the time, seeing a video of a shortstop or a second baseman getting “taken out” on a baseball diamond is pretty routine. With every single double play- the tunner is trying to disrupt the play, by sliding into the SS/2B who is turning the play at second.
This video is way, way different. It features a player, during a summer league game for Chicago State, talking with his buddies before the game starts. When all of the sudden a skydiver comes and takes him out. Check out the video below:
Yasiel Puig is being sued by a man in Cuba.
Yasiel Puig has burst onto the scene, hitting .388 and 8 HRs in 39 games. He has revitalized the overpaid, underperforming, star-filled roster of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are now just 1.5 games in the NL West.
However, he has not been without controversy. He has rubbed veterans of his own team and of the opposition the wrong way for his emotional play, leading to celebrations that “show-up”.
While I personally do not have a problem with these celebrations, as his celebrations are similar to Jose Reyes’ when he was a young buck on the Mets, their appears to be a more troubling controversy brewing off in the distance, Cuba to be exact.

Miguel Angel Jimenez and his strange warm-up routine is standing between Woods and the Open Championship title.
Tiger Woods is ranked the number one golfer in the world right now, but he is far from the dominant number one that he once was. He is currently in second place at the 2013 Open Championship, which leaves him in prime position to reclaim at least some of his former glory.
The man standing in his way? Miguel Angel Jimenez. While you probably never heard of him before, he has something that will make him stand out, his warm-up. Check it out below:
