In what was an expected decision, the New York Giants and Victor Cruz have come to an agreement on a four year deal worth 46 million dollars.
This deal ensures that the speedy slot receiver is locked up in New York, which basically acts as a an insurance policy in the case that Hakeem Nicks leaves.
As for Cruz, he gets around 15 million dollars in guaranteed money and becomes the highest paid slot receiver in the NFL.
I remember watching Cruz in a preseason game against the New York Jets where he absolutely torched them. While he did not make the team that season due to an injury, I feared that he could potentially be a huge offensive threat for the G-men. Little did I know that he would take the Jets out of the playoffs with a 99 yard touchdown catch.
