So who would you consider better: LeBron James or Kobe Bryant? In my opinion, people are going to lean towards the Kobe side, but Kobe is now 34 years old compared to LeBron’s 28. That’s a big difference in age. Many experts feel Kobe is not going to get any better and his good days are over, especially with the Achilles injury.
LeBron won his second title in a row last night and was named the MVP of the Finals for his performance. Not many people know how good LeBron is for his age compared to other stars like Bryant. As you can see from the image below, LeBron is better than Kobe in every category execpt titles by 1. Everything else (points, rebounds, assists, etc.) including the playoffs, James is better than Kobe ever was when the Black Mamba was 28.
Kobe was 28 six years ago, when I was 13. I did not watch basketball as much as I do now, so I cannot really compare the two with the eye test. However, it would be really hard to beat LeBron in that area. James is so diverse and special as a player. He can shoot the 3, drive the lane, and post up on offense. He can do it all. He blows right by players even at 250 pounds. He is a super-human. Even now, Kobe Bryant is still a great player with his signature fadeaway and post up moves as well. By looking at the numbers, clearly James wins in that department and is the player overall between the two. You be the judge.
