The latest development in the Aaron Hernandez saga is that there has been a warrant issued for his arrest. While the warrant was not issued for Hernandez to be arrested for murder, it is a step that shows the prosecution is moving forward with Hernandez as a leading suspect.
The warrant has been issued for the arrest due to the belief that Hernandez has not been cooperative and destroyed evidence (obstruction of justice). He destroyed his cell phone and his home security video cameras, along with hiring house cleaners to scrub his home on Monday.
In more news, Hernandez attempted to go to the Patriots facilitiy, but was turned away by the team’s officials. This is not an unexpected move as having police and an army of reporters stomping around would not be good for the team or the facilities.
While Hernandez has yet to be arrested, it is expected that it will take place at some point today. When considering that a helicopter has been following him for most of the past 24 hours, I would anticipate that it happens sooner rather than later.
