It has been almost 95 years since the 1919 World Series. This series has to be one of the most famous series of all time. The World Series was between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox or should I say the Black Sox. This World Series was the first nine game series because baseball wanted to draw in more fans and gain popularity. The Black Sox contained 8 players, most notably Shoeless Joe Jackson, who were accused of throwing the World Series. In 1921, those 8 players were banned from the sport and never allowed to play again.
The Reds went on to win the World Series. Back in 1919, players and managers usually got pins to show for their victory in the championship. However, Manager Pat Moran received the only ring given out for this World Series. Finally, the ring is up for auction. It is one of the rarest rings ever in baseball. Currently, the highest bid is a little over 33 thousand dollars. I think this sort of thing is cool and historic. This is a one in a lifetime opportunity to buy this ring and own it. Whoever gets this ring is going to cherish it forever.
