After reporting that incoming high school freshman, was offered a scholarship by USC (seen here), another young prospect was offered a college scholarship.
Jarius Brent, a 7th grade corner back of Hazelwood Middle School was offered a scholarship by the University of Kentucky. When he is a senior, he will be a part of the class of 2018.
While this is big news to sports media outlets as the implications of offering scholarships to players far younger then high school senior are tremendous, to Brent this is not a big deal.
It’s not a big deal. It’s just an offer,” Brents said.”It’s a good accomplishment, but I’m focusing on being the best cornerback ever and working hard.”
He was noticed at a summer Kentucky camp where he was grouped with the class of 2014 wide receivers. How did he perform? Well, he intercepted three passess and broke up a few more.
In combined with his work ethic and superior athleticism, he is also known as a community leader and has a 3.7 GPA. While this is definitely early, in fact way way to early, you have got to love when a kid pushes himself in both sports and school.
