Doctor J was the reason the ABA survived for as long as it did. Doctor J was the main reason the Nets are an NBA franchise. Doctor J is easily one of the, if not the best dunker of all-time.
He is the founder of what the dunk is today. In his prime, he dunked over everybody, and did it viciously. Even more outstanding is that he did it with class, being the face and ambassador of the NBA during his tenure as a professional basketball player.
In the documentary “Doctor J”, fans who are too young to ever see the Doctor operate were able to see rarely viewed footage of his playing days in the ABA and as an amateur.
Another thing that all viewers go to see last night? A 63 year-old legend dunk.
