The most predictable award winner was definitely Lebron James. In being named the MVP, he joins the exclusive, formerly 4 man club, to win four MVPs. Most interesting is the fact that he is four years younger than Jordan, a year younger the Russell and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and three years younger than Chamberlain.
This announcement obviously puts him in elite company, as Lebron was by far the best player this season. While is scoring output is the lowest of any of his previous MVP seasons, he averaged 8.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.7 steals and one block to go along with 26.8 PPG.
As Stephen A. Smith said, “The only suspense about this process was whether or not the voting was unanimous.” Hopefully that is the last time I quote Stephen A Smith.
