Derrick Rose Sued

For the past few years, Derrick Rose has been known for many things. From being a superstar to not taking his SATs to tearing his ACL. Obviously not having Rose in the league this year has been disappointing, but I can see where he is coming from. He wants to make sure he doesn’t come back too soon and re-injure himself. One fan, however, was not too happy with Rose and his decision not to play during the season. So what does this fan do? He sues him. The best part, the reasoning behind it. He said Rose’s absence caused him to go through depression and gain weight.

HipHop365 was first to report the situation:

A 25 year old Peoria Illinois man filed a lawsuit Thursday against Chicago Bulls Superstar Derrick Rose. Matthew Thompson, a self-described long-time Bulls fan, and electrician claims Rose missing the entire 2012-2013 NBA regular season has caused him to have mental breakdowns and emotional distress, which ultimately led to obesity issues.

According to reports, Thompson claims Rose displayed negligent behavior by refusing to return to the court, despite having been cleared by team doctors. He blames his health issues on the MVP’s refusal to return.

This has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. How does this guy Thompson think he deserves money from Derrick Rose not playing? This is so stupid that Thompson should pay Rose for making such a dumb claim. If he is any bit successful with this claim, I am going to start suing athletes myself. I’m not sure if Thompson is actually serious with this lawsuit, but if he should seek professional help. Even though they probably will not be able to help.
