Former NBA player Tracy McGrady signed with the San Antonio Spurs according to Yahoo! Sports. T-Mac last played in the Chinese Basketball Association over the winter for the Qingdao Eagles.
Honestly, the only thing I know about his China experience was this elbow he threw at an opponent:
When the Spurs decided to cut Stephen Jackson, a spot opened on the roster. The Spurs decided to give a call to Tracy and sign him for the remainder of the season. He is eligible for the playoffs because he has not played for an NBA team this season. The last NBA team McGrady played for was the Atlanta Hawks, where he averaged 5.3 points per game.
McGrady’s has averaged 19.6 points, 4.4 assists, and 5.6 rebounds throughout his 16 year career in the NBA. Obviously, he is not going to produce those numbers for the Spurs, but Tracy brings the experience to a playoff team and gives them a solid contributor. Either way, this is an interesting development as the NBA approaches the playoffs.
